Norway’s Hagland Shipping has returned to Dutch shipbuilder Royal Bodewes for another hybrid short-sea bulker.
The company kickstarted a fleet renewal drive last April with the first two 5,000-dwt ships in the series.
The order for the self-discharging ships came with two options.
The latest vessel will also replace older ships that have a traditional propulsion solution.
Its delivery in the middle of 2023 will mean a minimum of 50% of Hagland’s owned fleet will be equipped with battery hybrid technology.
