John Fredriksen-backed bulker owner Golden Ocean Group has signed an agreement to build three dual-fuel-ready kamsarmaxes at an unnamed shipyard in China for an undisclosed price.
The 85,000-dwt vessels will be built with "equipped with the latest and most efficient propulsion system" as part of the shipowner's fleet renewal strategy.
Golden Ocean said it would evaluate possible alternative fuels for the vessels further down the line.
