Australia’s Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) has ditched a tender to charter in LNG-fuelled ships and is planning to skip straight to carbon-free green ammonia-powered vessels.
In a bid to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 — 10 years earlier than planned — FMG has withdrawn a newbuilding tender to charter up to 10 LNG-fuelled, 209,000-dwt bulkers that it issued early this year.
