Taiwan's First Steamship has inked a deal for a new kamsarmax.
In a statement, it said it is paying less than $33.5m for the new ship.
It did not name the shipyard.
The move is being made "to strengthen the fleet for operation," it added.
In January, the company bought a newbuilding kamsarmax from Marubeni for $32.6m.
Having sold elderly aged ships earlier this decade, First Steamship owns two handysize, three kamsarmax and four supramax bulkers built from 2009 onwards.
