The first of two next generation shallow-draught transloaders on order in China for German shipowner Oldendorff Carriers has hit the water.
The 18,000-dwt newbuildings Calypso and Anna are under construction at Chengxi Shipyard in Yangzhou with delivery of the first vessel due in the fourth quarter of this year.
“With the launch of Calypso…we initiate the countdown to commence our transshipment services in North Vietnam,” Oldendorff said in a social media posting.
