Beijing-headquartered EGPN Bulk Carrier has signed its first newbuilding deal — ordering a single kamsarmax bulker at Chinese state-owned shipbuilder Chengxi Shipyard.
A yard official confirmed to TradeWinds that EGPN had ordered an 82,000-dwt ship, noting that negotiations were conducted entirely online.
The official added that the deal was EGPN’s first newbuilding order.
The vessel will be built to comply with Phase 2 of the IMO's Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) standards and Tier III NOx rules.
