Diana Shipping has fixed one of its capesize bulkers to Cargill International for almost two years.
The New York-listed company has penned a time charter contract with the Swiss commodity trader for the 171,800-dwt Salt Lake City (built 2005).
Cargill will use the ship at $9,750 per day for 20 months to 23 months, starting 14 March.
The average one-year timecharter rate on a 170,000-dwt capesize bulker is $10,875 per day, down from $17,000 per day at the beginning of 2019, according to Clarksons.
