China’s Hengli Heavy Industry has bagged its first Japanese newbuilding contract.
The Dalian-based shipbuilder has struck a deal with Doun Kisen for a series of kamsarmax bulkers, according to shipbuilding players.
TradeWinds learned that the Japanese shipowner has ordered four 82,000-dwt newbuildings at Hengli to be delivered in 2027.
