Sea Cargo Charter members have succeeded with unique charterparty clauses leading to more shipowners submitting voyage emission data than ever before.
That was the message from the Global Maritime Forum-backed body’s third annual report that sought to show how the group is beginning to influence shipowners.
Chairman Rasmus Bach Nielsen — also head of fuel decarbonisation at giant commodity trader and charterer Trafigura — put the increased reporting levels down to charter members now having standardised baselines and a global shipping reporting framework that they can get shipowners to use.
