CBC Holding has fetched an eye-catching price for a modern Japanese-built capesize bulker.
Sources say the 182,000-dwt Red Cherry (built 2015) has been sold to an undisclosed buyer for $45m.
Experts explain the figure shows a strong rise in the value of such ships, with the period charter on the vessel masking how much values have really jumped.
The deal is understood to include a nine-month charter at $18,000 per day, which is below the current market.
