US-listed dry bulk player Castor Maritime has made its fifth purchase since last summer to bring the size of its fleet to eight ships.

Market sources in Athens and London brokers identified the Petros Panagiotidis-led company as buyer of the 83,400-dwt Key Evolution (built 2010) for $15.25m.

The same ship was reported sold in December 2020. It is characteristic of the upward trend of bulker values that the Key Evolution, owned by Japan’s Tokei Kaiun and built at Sanoyas Hishino Meisho yard, was believed to have fetched between $14.5m
