Another week, another vessel purchase for expanding Nasdaq-listed Castor Maritime.

The Cyprus-based shipowner said it had agreed to buy a 2011 Japanese-built kamsarmax bulker for $16.85m.

This is its eighth secondhand addition since January.

The company has already spent more than $100m this year on a capesize, four kamsarmaxes and two LRs that saw it enter the tanker market for the first time, following a series of fundraising share issues.
