Norway's JJ Ugland is considering whether it will continue to operate off West Africa following the abduction of nine crew from its bulker Bonita on Saturday.
The company has confirmed the master was one of those kidnapped from the 58,000-dwt ship (built 2010) off Benin while it was waiting for a berth to discharge gypsum.
Ugland said it makes continuous assessments of the security situation in areas where its vessels operate.
