The surge in demand for capesize bulkers will continue for six more weeks, driven by increased orders from China for West African bauxite, according to Adhira Shipping & Logistics.
The Dubai charterer said bauxite prices have risen from $73 per tonne in September 2024 to $120 in January 2025 as “an armada of ships” waits to load in ports along the African coast.
