Canada Steamship Lines (CSL), part of the CSL Group, has begun construction work on a 26,000-dwt bulker that will be used to ship salt within Canada.
The vessel has been ordered on the back of a long-term charter from Canadian salt company K+S Windsor Salt. Financial terms of the charter have not been disclosed.
The ship, which has just completed its keel laying, is under construction at China’s Chengxi Shipyard in Jiangyi and is due for delivery in early 2022.
