Bulker owner British Marine has more than doubled its money on a supramax that it purchased from Eagle Bulk Shipping last year.
US brokerage sources say the UK-based shipowner has sold the 53,000-dwt Grasshopper (built 2002) to an undisclosed buyer for $9m. British Marine bought the Imabari-built ship as Kittiwake for just $4.2m.
British Marine did not respond to requests for comment.
