Singapore-based Berge Bulk has sold a 20-year-old capesize vessel for demolition in Bangladesh as it continues to phase out its elderly large bulkers.
Sources said the 170,000-dwt Berge Eiger (built 2000) has been sold in an off-market deal for $400 per ldt, or $8.1m.
The Berge Eiger was purchased in July 2013 from Japan’s K Line for $16m as the Cape Lotus.
