Belships could easily claim the title of shipping’s thriftiest shopper.
The Norwegian shipowner has acquired 22 bulkers over the past three years, but its net spending amounts to less than $10m in cash.
The company, which has a fleet of supramax and ultramax bulk carriers, has sold off older tonnage, bought ships with its own shares and refinanced vessels with leasing arrangements.
