AVIC International Leasing has sold a kamsarmax bulk carrier newbuilding that is under construction at China’s Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding.
It auctioned the 85,000-dwt Hull No B85k-10 on Guangzhou Shipping Exchange’s online platform, fetching $35.18m.
Shipping sources familiar with AVIC Leasing said it had taken advantage of demand for prompt vessels to flip the ship for a profit.
