Alpha Bulkers Shipmanagement of Greece is selling a capesize in the first demolition of a 2001-built large bulker since December 2018.
European demolition brokers said the shipowner has sold the 169,000-dwt Maria A Angelicoussi (built 2001) "as is" in Singapore for $408 per ldt, or $9m.
It is unclear whether the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries-built vessel is poised for a traditional beaching demolition or green recycling.
