Greek shipowner owner AB Maritime appears to have sold its oldest bulker.
Shipbrokers said the 46,000-dwt Eugenia B (built 1998) has gone for further trading to a Middle East-based buyer for $5.75m.
The demolition value of the Sanoyas Shipbuilding-constructed ship is likely to be $3.5m.
Executives at the company declined to comment when contacted by TradeWinds this week.
AB Maritime bought the ship — then named Stellar Might — from United Ocean of Japan for $16m in 2003, as freight rates started to climb, and traded it through the boom years before the market collapsed in 2008.
