Yang Ming is set to join the mega containership trend with orders for a series of 16,000-teu vessels.

The new vessels are almost double the size of the largest 8,241-teu vessels currently in the fleet of the Taiwan based liner shipping group.

Yang Ming’s veteran chairman Dr Frank Lu said he would be making the proposal to the board of directors next week.
