Taiwan’s Yang Ming has ruled out a merger with a boxship rival.
Speculation has been mounting about its future, as well as other smaller players like OOCL and Zim, as consolidation hits the struggling sector.
But chairman Hsieh Chih-Chien said the company will not be combined with any rivals.
Instead, he is backing the market to improve as ship over-supply narrows, he told an event in Taipei.
