Taipei-based Yang Ming Marine Transport said on Wednesday that for now it planned to take the low sulphur fuel route to meet the requirements of the International Maritime Organization’s sulphur cap that kicks in on 1 January 2020.
"The use of low-sulphur fuel is the intended solution for now, but we can't rule out other options like scrubber installation and LNG related infrastructure," it said told Platts news agency.
