Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has agreed to pay a $98.8m fine as part of the price-fixing scandal that has swept in much of the car carrier industry, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) said.
The criminal fine makes the joint venture of Sweden's Wallenius Lines and Norway's Wilh Wilhemsen the fourth company to be charged in the US investigation.
The DoJ says the car carrier owner conspired with other shipping lines to fix prices, rig bids and allocate customers between February 2000 and at least September 2012.
