Top liner operators are to try to push freight rates up by a minimum of $400 per forty foot box on the key Asia US trade route.

The member lines of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) plan to raise rates from January 1 to combat what they said was “steadily falling freight rate levels in the trade during the past quarter.”

The TSA is a key force in the Pacific line trade but lines may face opposition from major shippers.
