India's Shreyas Shipping & Logistics has criticised the government's dropping of coastal boxship cabotage restrictions.
Foreign owners can now move in on domestic markets after a decision this week.
They will be able to transport export-import (exim) containers between Indian ports.
But coastal containership owner Shreyas said it was "far-fetched" and "a myth" that if exim cabotage is relaxed, transhipment will shift to Indian hubs.
