The New York-listed containership owner announced both dealsless than two weeks ago but has now turned the agreements into bindingcontracts.  

Seaspan is paying $550m for the five ships which areschedule for delivery in 2016.

The order adds to the 10 newbuildings of the same size ithas under construction at Hyundai Heavy Industries which are also backed bycharters with Yang Ming.

The Taiwanese containerline will take the five vessels beingbuilt at CSBC for a minimum of six-years each.
