Smaller liner companies will face the dilemma of going bust or being forced to join large operators following the collapse of Hanjin Shipping, Rodolphe Saade said.

The vice-chairman of the French liner company said a wave of consolidation will follow the receivership of Hanjin and opportunities are likely to arise.

His comments come hot on the heels of the completion of the Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) acquisition, which established CMA CGM as the third biggest liner company in the world.
