Hope container lines can reverse half-year losses by the close of 2011 is fading with the freight market.
RS Platou Markets says Trans-Pacific spot rates slumped by over one tenth in the past week and peak season surcharges have been all but wiped out less than a month after they were introduced.
“Hope was for a moderate market recovery in second half of 2011 on the back of a successful implementation of the peak season surcharge,” the finance house said in a report today.
“However,
