Growth in container volumes on the Asia-Europe liner route has been particularly weak in the first seven months of this year.
Shipments on the trade lane, which accounted for 8% of the global box trade in 2017, were up just 0.5% to 9.3mteu between January and July 2018, according to Clarksons.
