Thedeal has got a regulatory green light from the South African competition andfinancial authorities with Grindrod describing the move as a furtherdevelopment in its strategy of providing an integrated service covering themovement of containerised, dry bulk, tanker and wheeled cargoes.
Johannesburgstock exchange listed Grindrod is not disclosing the amount paid for theSafmarine stake.
OACLoperates a fleet of four vessels of between 900-teu and 1200-teu calling allmajor ports in South Africa, Namibia and Angola and providing a feeder serviceto the major international liner groups.
