Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) says it is poised to sign newbuilding orders with the nation’s three largest shipbuilders for up to 20 vessels.
It has selected Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world’s largest shipbuilder, to construct a series of eight 14,000 teu containerships.
Meanwhile, DSME and Samsung Heavy Industries have been selected to build seven and five 23,000-teu containerships respectively.
