The Helsinki-listed operator says it willpay EUR 30.6m ($41.5m) to acquire the 8,432-gt Transrussia (built 1977) from FinnlinesDeutschland.
In a statement the company noted thetransaction will mark the end of its affiliate’s shipowning activities.
Goingforward it said Finnlines Deutschland will concentrate on theprovision of the agency services to the Finnlines Group of companies and Russialiner services with chartered tonnage.
As a result ofthe sale Finnlines indicated it plans to recognise a write-off of EUR 16m onthe book value of its stake in the German subsidiary.
