Thevessel at the centre of the dispute is the Christian Ahrenkiel managed1,504-teu Montania (built 1996) which TradeWinds reported as sold to Iranianinterests for $6.9m in 2009.

Butthe deal was never completed and the KG scheme that owned the vessel, Montania Schiffahrtsgesellschaft,has obtained London arbitration awards against Mohsen Line General Trading ofDubai, which is alleged to have defaulted on the deal.

ReedSmith who represented the KG scheme in the dispute is now trying to enforce theaward against Mohsen, founded in Iran in 1999, and controlled by the Sarafanfood trading family.
