Evergreen Marine Corp has confirmed an order for eight new containerships at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea.
Seoul-listed Samsung announced the $750m deal today without naming the Asian shipowner and Evergreen has now said it is being the 12,000-teu vessels.
Evergreen chairman Anchor Chang and Samsung chairman JO Nam singed the contract today.
