Taiwan's Evergreen Marine Corporation has arranged finance for ten of its newbuildings.
It has negotiated an $824m loan, syndicated with nine banks with the Bank of Taiwan as facilitator.
The loans are repayable over 10 years.
The vessels covered by the loan are ten 8,000-teu post-panamax vessels ordered in May 2011.
They are due to be delivered from China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSBC) in Kaohsiung between 2013 and 2015.
Evergreen has a further 20 such vessels on order at Samsung, the work shared equally between its Geoje and Koje yards.
With a length of 335m and a beam of 45.8m, they will be of a suitable size to transit the enlarged Panama Canal in 2014.
