The Indian government has brought in Essar Shipping managing director Anoop Sharma to run state-owned Shipping Corporation of India (SCI).
The Hindustan Times said the move was made on Saturday and marks a departure for SCI after rules were relaxed to allow recruitment from the private sector.
Sharma became CEO of Essar Shipping in December and now replaces temporary SCI managing director BB Sinha.
