Costamare’s move to delay a quartet of containership newbuildlings into next year has received a positive response from the market.
New York-listed Costamare announced yesterday the final four 11,000-teu ships in a series at Hanjin Heavy Industries would now all arrive in 2017.
Noah Parquette of JP Morgan said the development was a “positive surprise”.
“This move both puts off the capital requirements, which are modest, and brings the deliveries closer to a market recovery,” he said.
