Afederal judge in California is urging Maersk Line to resolve a tariff disputewith Lukecore Transportation out of court.
The move does not come as a surprise tothe logistic giant’s attorney, Stephen Uthoff, who says it has becomeincreasingly common in recent years as the Golden State’s legal system isoverburdened with civil cases.
“California encourages alternativedispute resolution,” he said. “Mediation in my experience is good because ithelps parties resolve things quicker.
