France's CMA CGM has further reduced its CO2 emissions as it chases its latest 10-year target.
The container line said it cut emissions per container transported by 4% in 2016.
Its target is 30% by 2025.
CMA CGM had already reduced CO2 emissions per container by 50% between 2005 and 2015.
It put the improvement down to technological innovations such as bulbous bows that improve vessel hydrodynamics, as well as the chartering of modern giant containerships equipped with new efficient technologies.
