CMA CGM has emerged as the charterer of four neo-panamax boxship newbuildings.
The French container carrier is paying up to $29,000 per day to fix the 10,010-teu vessels under construction at China’s Jiangsu Yangzijiang on three year charters.
The vessels are being built for Seaspan Corp and its private equity partner, Greater China Intermodal Investments. The duo ordered the ships in December 2014 and April 2015 for delivery in February and May next year.
