Boxship demolition activity continues with CMA CGM and Hansa Treuhand sending further tonnage to the breakers’ beaches.
CMA CGM’s 5,404-teu APL Cyprine (built 1997) has been sold for scrap in India, brokers say.
A price of $281 per ldt is placed on the sale, meaning a $6.3m cheque for the owner.
Also heading for scrap in India is the 2,700-dwt Bonny (built 2001), owned by Hansa Treuhand.
