The Baltic Exchange’s long-struggling efforts to crack the container shipping market have taken another step forward with a new attempt at tracking freight rates.
The leading freight exchange and shipping market information provider is forming a new index to benchmark container freight rates with Freightos, a freight rate tracking portal.
It follows the failure of the Baltic's previous effort to move into the container space in a partnership with the Ningbo Shipping Exchange (NSE) in 2015.
