Three intra-Asian liner operators are to introduce a winter surcharge on cargoes from Singapore to the Indian port of Kolkata.
Advance Container Lines, Bengal Tiger Line and Samudera Shipping will add $100, $105 and $108 per teu respectively from 1 October 2017.
“With the impending winter season, drafts will be cut and this will adversely affect the loading on our vessels,” the trio said.
