“New berths to handle the increased demand for coastal cargo will be built close to Porbandar, financially supported by the state which will invest INR 370m ($5.2m),” according to shipping data manager Fotios Katsoulas.
Another INR 150m will be invested in developing skills and investing in safety measures for workers in shipbreaking yards.
