The UK Chamber of Shipping has welcomed the appointment of Chris Grayling as new secretary of state for transport.
Grayling got the nod from the country’s new prime minister Theresa May on Thursday, replacing Patrick McLoughlin.
He was previously a shadow minister of transport for the Conservatives between 2005 and 2007 when Labour was in power.
The government reshuffle was prompted by the UK’s vote to leave the European Union last month, for which Grayling was a leading campaigner.
