A huge plan of the ill fated transatlantic liner Titanic has sold for £220,000 ($362,000) at an auction that coincided with the centenary of the ship’s launch.
The 33 foot long drawing commissioned for the 36 day British Board of Trade inquiry into the loss is marked in chalk where the Titanic is thought to have hit the iceberg.
Witnesses testified at the inquiry by pointing to the diagram which was prepared by naval architects working for the White Star Line.
