In Canada, Port Metro Vancouver’s and Prince Rupert Port Authority are rewarding customers by offering discounts on port dues.
According to a statement the size of the incentive is now based on a ship’s ‘A to G’ Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) rating and the Environmental Ship Index (ESI), which evaluates the amount of Sulphur Oxides and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emitted by commercial vessels.
