Crew of a sunken ship freed by pirates on Wednesday are now onboard a Greek LPG carrier which has itself just been released after payment of a ransom.

Crew of the Rak Afrikana are now onboard the freed York.

The 6,311-cbm York (built 2000) is now en route to an unspecified safe port after being released on Thursday afternoon, TradeWinds understands.



The Singapore-flagged vessel was hijacked on 23 October with 17 crew onboard and has since been frequently used by its captors as a mothership from which to stage further attacks.
